Here is a cool video showing the many attractions the city of Mar del Plata has to offer. One of the most pristine coastal cities in Argentina, Mar del Plata is facing some very severe pollution issues that not only affect the health of the marine ecosystem and beaches along its 35 kilometer surfable coast, but also threatens the public and economic health of our entire beach town. Needless to say, none of the environmental issues the city is facing are listed in this promotional video.

South America's  number one Surf City needs everyone's help to making it again a safe environment for both the year around local residents and the visiting tourists in search of a fun and safe place to relax close to the ocean.

International Beach Conservancy Day / Dia Internacional de la Conservacion de las Playas

Hi everyone,

I started this Blog to bring awareness and educate the community on ocean related issues. I am currently developing a network of friends, ocean lovers and environmental groups to help me host the First Annual International Beach Conservancy Day in 2010. This year's Host city for the event will be Mar del Plata, BS.AS. Argentina-the most southernly surf city in South America- We are hoping to get groups and individuals from the cities of Tijuana, Mex. y San Diego, USA involved with the cause and to help us host awareness/cleanup events in their affected areas. We need all the help we can get. Thank you!

Empecé este blog para generar conciencia y educar a la comunidad en los problemas ambientales en torno al océano. En este momento estoy creando un network de amigos, amantes del océano y grupos de protección al medio ambiente para ayudarme a organizar el Primer Dia Internacional de la Conservación de las Playas en el 2010. La ciudad patrocinadora del evento este año sera Mar del Plata, BS.AS. Arg. -la ciudad de Surf mas al Sur de todo Sudamérica.
